The new DCA Steermaster steered axle puts the DCA (Durable Compact Axle) product range in pole position with the DCA Airmaster, DCA Weightmaster and DCA Megamaster. In keeping with tradition, Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems is showcasing its axles in the component-supplier zone in Hall 26 at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover. Weighing in at just 575 kg or so, the new DCA Steermaster with a permissible axle load of nine tonnes is the lightest steered axle in its class. At the same time, the DCA Steermaster enhances trailer manoeuvrability, minimises tyre wear and reduces the fuel consumption of a 40-tonne semitrailer rig by around three percent. Assuming a mileage of 150,000 km, this equates to an annual diesel saving of more than 1000 litres.

Safety is the focus of the new-generation Mercedes-Benz Travego high-deck touring coach, which marks the world premiere of the Active Brake Assist (ABA) system in the bus and coach sector. Active Brake Assist has clocked up a combined total of more than 350 million kilometres on the road for our customers in the Mercedes-Benz Actros truck. Now it is set to celebrate its world premiere in the bus and coach sector – in the Mercedes-Benz Travego. If Active Brake Assist (also known as emergency braking assist) detects an acute risk of a rear-end collision with a vehicle in front, it initiates emergency braking independently following intermittent warnings.
