After twelve hours of air travel over a route that should have taken no more than three, I'm comfortably ensconsed in a Scottsdale AZ motel suite that's almost as comfortable as home. I'm not blaming the weather for the flight delay. It's what happens when you travel using free "air miles." In spite of their advertising claims the airlines really don't want you to use those miles and will fly passengers all over North America rather than route them directly. How that saves the airlines money I can't imagine. Air Canada's Aeroplan flew me from Victoria International to Vancouver (15 minutes air time); a lengthy wait though probably necessary to clear US Immigration; thence to San Francisco plus another two-hour wait before boarding a United Airlines flight to Phoenix (which city holds the world's record for slow baggage delivery.) Awakened at 4:00 AM in my Sidney, BC home (adjacent to Victoria International), I arrived at the Scottsdale Park Suites shortly after 5:00 PM. That's why the best I can offer is this view of the Barrett-Jackson auction action as the folks in the back row saw it. Okay... best until our next blog because I'd like to share a few early auction arrivals.
