Brundle, Newey, Horner and Hoare star in Sussex
Cars International Kensington are known throughout the World for the supply of historic and high performance vehicles from the premier marques of every era. Their FV10 programme brings the modern Grand Prix driving experience to a broader group of enthusiasts. The Company became the catalyst for GP past and present to star at the cult Goodwood Revival race meeting in Sussex last week end ? renowned for its detailed step back in time and pure period racing.
ITV F1 commentator and former GP star Martin Brundle teamed with F1 design legend Adrian Newey in a lightweight Jaguar E Type supplied by Cars international to the Red Bull design chief. At a pre qualifying dinner organised by Cars International to celebrate brother Robin?s birthday, Martin described his tactics for the prestigious 2-driver Royal Automobile Club TT celebration race.
?I?m going to give it ninety percent, that way I can leave a margin for error ? just in case!? said the Le Mans winner and former Benetton F1 team mate to Michael Schumacher. The F1 duo of Newey and Brundle went on to set pole position for the race of the stars which included twice World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi.
Adrian Newey proved his undoubted talent despite his lack of experience to hold a fine 4th before handing over to Brundle in the pit stop but a broken throttle stop delayed the team with Martin rejoining 9th. However, the GP star set successive fastest laps to claw his way to the podium, 3rd for the F1 alliance of design and television but had there been a margin for error?
